Professional Development

I am dedicated to enhancing my teaching practices through ongoing professional development. I have completed training in evidence-based literacy programs, including:

​

  • Science of Reading: Strengthened my understanding of how children acquire reading skills, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

  • Orton-Gillingham: Equipped me with structured, multisensory strategies to support students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

  • LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling): Provided me with research-based strategies to improve reading instruction and intervention.

  • UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute): Trained me in explicit, systematic phonics instruction to build strong foundational reading skills.

  • Writing Rope: Enhanced my knowledge of teaching writing through explicit instruction in syntax, text structure, and writing conventions.

I continually seek opportunities to refine my skills and stay current with best practices to support my students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
